The Process
After the products are cast they are sanded down and put through an acid cleaning process to remove impurities so the powder coating will seal to the metal. The first coat of powder coating is then electrostatic applied, the base coat. This is put on as a powder form, a negative charge is applied to the powder and a positive charge to the item being coated, this makes sure the powder covers all parts of the furniture evenly.

The item is then cured in an oven at 240°C. The wetting agents in the powder coating spread to form a film and then harden to seal the metal inside - the outer shell of the powder coating. Next the coating is hand finished to give the textured effect, the painted item is then applied with clear powder coating to protect the hand finish and again cured at 240°C. Powder coating is harder than traditional paint, it is evenly spread across a surface and bonds to the surface it has coated. There is also less waste and it is more environmentally friendly than traditional paint.
