SYSTEMISED POOL WATER MAINTENANCE FOR SUMMER!

"Little and often!" is our best advice when maintaining pool water throughout the summer.  Summer time maintenance has the additional problem of chlorine evaporation and depletion due to high temperatures and heavy use. 

But summertime swimming pool maintenance need not be a chore, and after balancing your water in spring, implement a routine that ensures the following:

Good Regular Pool Chemical Routines

Maintain sanitisation levels (pool chlorine or bromine) to control bacteria and regularly check the pH levels.

Implement weekly shock treatments and algae treatments.  Prevention is better than a re-active approach.

Good Pool Cleaning Routines

Remove leaves and debris before swimming and clean the water line weekly using a tile cleaner.

Backwash your filter weekly.

Restore water balance monthly (including total alkalinity and calcium hardness).

Pools fitted with cartridge filters should be cleaned every 4-6 weeks, depending on usage and filter quality.
